Middle East: Guests Are a Gift from God

At the crossroad between Asia, Africa and Europe and rich in historical significance and natural resources, the Middle East has never ceased to be a battleground for the different nations fighting in the name of their ethnicities and religions. Due to this sad truth, the Middle East is always in the media headlines for the wrong reasons.

In places that are portrayed to the world as breeding ground for terrorists and extremists, I have come across the loveliest and most hospitable people.  There were simply too many moments that touched my heart, equally as many that left me pondering.

From chador-covered women to the calming Islamic calls to prayer blasted through loudspeakers at every street corner, the Middle East always exudes a mysterious air to the occasional passerby.  But once you engage into the life of the locals and lift up that veil, it’s a whole new world of warm and interesting personalities waiting for you to explore and discover.

It’s cliche.. but I sincerely wish that the world could one day live in harmony and peace.
